The simple title of this video "michelle singing songs" is appropriate and makes me hopeful that some new mucic might be forthcoming. Being a long-time fan of Michelle Shaprow, her song came up in rotation from my library. Yes, now I get inspiration from my own library, LOL. 

Granny (me) does not remember how I first came to know Michelle's music, but when I found Michelle on Myspace, she was so personable.  I even tried to set her up with my son who was single at the time. Michelle was so nice to me that she personally sent songs for inclusion on my station, "Funk Sanctum Radio" by djGoddessa. And now, even though I am retired from streaming, I still receive updates on my favorite musicians through my YouTube subscription. MONIQUE BINGHAM has been responsible for some of the most poignant house music of the past two decades.  And this tune with Black Coffee "Deep in the Bottom" does not disappoint.

"Monique Bingham has been responsible for some of the most poignant, soulful jazz-infused house music of the past 20 years. Her career began with the acid jazz band Abstract Truth in 1995 at Francois K‘s legendary Axis studios. The first single, “Get Another Plan” received international critical acclaim and was picked up by Gilles Peterson for his UK imprint, “Talkin Loud” in ‘96. The follow up single, “We Had a Thing” penned and performed by Monique, is an indisputable soulful house classic due in large part to Matthias Matty Heilbronn’s infectious house remix.

Getting inspiration from my own .mp3 library.  This video of Manou Gallo can be found on her "Official" YouTube channel. I rediscovered Manou Gallo in my music library this morning. She is a percussionist, guitarist, dancer and vocalist and happens to be from the Ivory Coast. WOW!!! On the electric guitar at 3:50 is stunning. Rock on, Sister Gallo.
