Happy Friday, Family,
This video comes to me today all the way from the Sudan. People have commented that I just post videos here anymore and there is not much actual text. Those comments did not get approved, but they are true. Barely have time to post the videos and this one needs no explaining why I love Nathalie Makoma's voice and presence.
The original video for this post was removed from YouTube and I just found this one today, which is even better.
How about that hair?
Have fun,

Video: Kady Diarra Burkina Faso Griot
Happy #MusicMonday!
There is a release date of March 1, 2013 on this album on emusic.com which is where I shop; however, on Amazon, they say it was released in 2009!!! Woah big difference. Since I am just finding it today, I prefer the March 1, 2013 date ... she is wonderful and we love her already!
"For this album, Kady Diarra developed her compositions with an aim to make the arrangements more modern. In a spirit of opening, she crosses balafon and percussion with guitars and Afrobeat. In her lyrics, Diarra remains faithful to the tradition of the griots and advises her African brothers and sisters in their everyday life, giving them hope in the future while honoring her ancestors. With this album, Diarra hopes that the music of the Burkina Faso will find its place with the general public."
Enjoy
