Who has eaten Black Rice and why?

Happy Funky Friday Family,

My In-Box Jewel today was the result of the Google Blog regarding using Google Insights in Search.  As I had never used Insights before, I checked it out.  Woah, this is way cool and shows trending topics graphically.  The most interesting trending topic I found right now is "black rice" which I had never heard of before this very moment thus fueling my quest today to learn more about "black rice."  How did it start trending and why now?






Have you have heard of black rice before?  I have never eaten it that I know of.  You can be sure that I will be trying to get some as soon as possible to find out for myself.  But in the meantime, please post your experience with black rice here to get us going.
